Job Opportunity: The Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations

Showcase your writing talents and be published in a local magazine! The Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations is looking for a third or fourth-year journalism student to write an 800-word magazine article for an upcoming publication that features stories of innovation in Calgary’s nonprofit sector. The student writer will conduct one interview as part of an information gathering phase prior to writing the article. Two opportunities are available; one article will feature the story of a charity that uses humour to address a men’s health issue with a specific focus on the 18-35 demographic. The second article explores an innovative housing model for local seniors that allows them to stay in their homes and communities longer. Each student writer will be paid $400 for their finished article.
