To typeset and layout editorial content on a monthly basis. (This could be worked as a shared position)

Work with newspaper team on ads when necessary.

Technical knowledge of printing in QuarkXpress, or Adobe In-Design and have a working knowledge of MS Word.

Part-time position in a media environment. Hours are variable and negotiable to meet printing deadlines.
Working with Editor and Graphic Designer.

CBC summer scholarships

Named for a former CBC regional news manager - Joan Donaldson - the scholarship is a summer long paid work placement at a CBC location in Canada. The scholarship is a great opportunity and experience, and open only to students who will have completed their program by April 2017. Details at:

Mount Royal can nominate up to four students for the scholarship. Should more than four students demonstrate an interest journalism program faculty will review the applicants and decide which students to nominate, based on the journalism work they have done in the program.

FRIENDS of Canadian Broadcasting announced The Dalton Camp Award in 2002 to honour the memory of Dalton Camp, a distinguished commentator on Canadian public affairs.

The Dalton Camp Award will go to the winner or winners of an essay competition on the link between democracy and the media in Canada. In 2016, there was one Award, open to all eligible entrants, consisting of a prize of $10,000, as well as a bronze cast medal by the late Canadian sculptress Dora de Pédèry-Hunt. In addition, a second Award consisting of a prize of $2,500 was awarded, at the Selection Committee's discretion, to the best essay by an entrant who is or was during the calendar year of the Award a student at a recognized post-secondary institution.
