Volleyball Canada Event Staff Recruitment (May 10-21)

Wednesday, 08 April 2015 15:00

Volleyball Canada is looking to recruit local event staff to assist us with the preparation and execution of the 2015 Volleyball Canada Championships taking place in Calgary this spring, between May 10-21. This event is going to be the largest celebration of volleyball ever held in Canada, with over 800 teams and 10,000 athletes participating, as well as over 12,000 spectators in attendance.

We require event staff between May 10-21: Set-Up (May 10-13), Competition (May 14-19), Tear-Down (May 20-21). The shifts will be scheduled based on tournament wave times - AM Wave (7AM-3PM) and PM Wave (3PM-10PM). All event staff positions are paid $125 per shift (plus food/beverage).

There are a variety of roles that we need to fill throughout the event, most notably medal ceremonies assistant and social media assistant. If you have any students that are creative and would like to apply their writing and social media skills, we would love for them to apply. We plan on having a large social media presence throughout the event, in addition to having more formal news/press releases at the end of each day for a recap. We are also looking for bilingual staff and staff. Anyone interested in helping us out is invited to complete the online form.

Please feel free to circulate this to anyone of you contacts that may have a sport background, or that have previous experience working at large-scale events.
